Obituary for Laurie S McClusick (Fisher)
Laurie S. McClusick, 53, of Bellefonte, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Mt. Nittany Medical Center. Born on March 10, 1964, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of Larry O. Fisher of Milesburg and the late Donna M. Askey Fisher.
Laurie was a of the Protestant faith. She was a 1983 graduate of State College High School. She was employed as a baker at Walmart on the Benner Pike, retiring in 2015 after 15 years of service.
Laurie had health issues all her life. She had kidney troubles which lead to a kidney transplant. Later in life, she was diagnosed with cancer and had to go on kidney dialysis daily. Laurie did not let her health problems slow her down. She was an adventurous person. She enjoyed going on road trips to casinos, amusement parks, and shopping sprees. She loved looking for bargains at the Good Will store and yards sales.
Laurie had a contagious and beautiful laugh. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. She adored her puppies. She often said, “Since I don’t have grandchildren yet, my puppies are my grandchildren”. Her family was most important to her and she wanted the best for her children. She wouldn’t let her illness stop her from giving them the best she could.
Laurie is survived by her three children: Eric W. Laird of Clearfield, Adam C. Fisher of Bellefonte, and Mary E. Royer and her fiancé, Stefan Bamat, of Frenchville, two brothers; Michael Fisher of Vietnam, and Kevin Fisher and his wife, Jennifer, of Runville and one sister, Amy Fisher of Bethel, PA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that she doted over constantly, and a huge circle of friends.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, March 10, 2018 (Laurie’s birthday) from 2-6pm at the Moshannon Community Center in Moshannon, PA.
